Liberal Hooker is a documentary exploration that began with a stretch of small towns along the Oklahoma-Kansas border whose names (Liberal, KS; Hooker, OK and others) hint at the irony, contradiction, and quiet surrealism woven into the American landscape.
As a photographer of peripheries ranging from geographic to social and psychological, I am drawn to places and narratives that exist at the edges of visibility and cultural attention. This project traces the psychic and physical contours of a region suspended in myth and erosion. Through a visual language of stillness and subtlety, the work reflects on displacement, desire, and the architectures of identity that take shape in forgotten spaces.
