MSP – Winter Forms/Glow

This image was made in the storage area of an Ecuadorian restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the golden hour. This was the warmest feeling exterior space (visually and physically) for the entirety of the day.

The space recorded reflects a transitional zone used for storage and often overlooked in the movement of people and goods through a cityscape. Objects continue to accumulate in these types of spaces, along with the small amount of winter warmth from the diminished sunlight.

Image was produced under the constraint of finding the space with the smallest amount of evidence of human interaction inside a busy commercial zone. Minimal adjustments were made to exposure.

This location connects with my ongoing investigation of small-scale architectural interventions and natural/ephemeral phenomena.
